Breaking news on one of my biggest moments in Japan. Costco is now selling real long-grained Basmati rice!!! No longer do we need to suffer. www.theflyingpig.com
Actually, maybe I'll order some but not use it til we get back from Malaysia. I don't want to spoil the moment I eat that sweet goodness for the first time in so long.
As for granola, the best I've ever tried anywhere (and my mother has a health food shop, that is saying something) you can get at http://www.alishan-organic-center.com/en/tengu/ It is the easiest place to order from, you just fax or email the order and pay for it when it arrives with the slip inside the box at your local Post Office or conbeni. None of this furikomi hassle! It also has canned chickpeas for making hummus.
oops. when you go to that website, click on On-Line Shopping top left, then click on Cereals, scroll down to Save The Forest Granola. I recommend the 1kg bag - you will eat it. They have recently put their prices up (after retailers spat the dummy that the online prices were cheaper) but they lowered their shipping costs to compensate. happy shopping :)
YES!!! Thanks Rosie I'm running low on the supply from home-when I remembered how the rice falls through your fork when its not sticky bland mingo J-rice I think I had a small orgasm (-0-)
I like the sticky stuff better to be honest :-)!!! In saying that you can`t use the sticky rice in curries - And I know you make a bloody good Butter Chicken :-)
Somehow I ended up in Japan...read on and share the triumphs and pitfalls of life as an Assitant Language Teacher. I'm here with my faithful comrade, Dan, in Hagi, Yamaguchi.
